B.Sc Nursing

Objective:

To apply knowledge from physical, biological and behavioral sciences, medicine, including alternative systems and nursing in providing nursing care to individuals, families and communities.
To demonstrate understanding of life style and other factors, which affect health of individuals and groups?
To Provide nursing care based on steps of nursing process in collaboration with the individuals and groups
To Demonstrate critical thinking skill in making decisions in all situations in order to provide quality care.
To utilize the latest trends and technology in providing health care.
To Provide promotive, preventive and restorative health services in line with the national health policies and programs.
To Practice within the framework of code of ethics and professional conduct and acceptable standards of practice within the legal boundaries. 8. Communicate effectively with individuals and groups and members of the health team in order to promote effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
To demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and groups in clinical/ community health settings.

Eligibility:

The eligibility criteria for BSc Nursing is a 10+2 from Science stream with PCB with 45% and English as compulsory subject with 45% in seperate.

10+2 passed with physics, chemistry and biology.

Students have to secure minimum 45% marks in the qualifying examination. The age limit is minimum 18 years.

Scope:

There is a wide range of opportunities after finishing B.Sc. Nursing, the students can opt for a job or go for higher studies. Those who want to take up jobs can join as Nursing Advisors to the Indian Government, Nursing Assistants/Supervisors, Teachers and Nursing Superintendents. Those who want to pursue further studies can join for M.Sc. Neuroscience, M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc. Medical Microbiology and M.Sc. Biochemistry. They can also join a post graduate program in Public Health management besides M.Sc. in renal sciences and dialysis technology.
